oh gosh, i was hoping u would ask this question...i saw ur comment on that last question i answered, and i was hoping to be able to tell u what lol meant...(thanks for the best answer, by the way!)
it simply means "laugh out loud", when something's funny. there's also rofl - rolling on the floor laughing, lmao - laughing my a** off, or put them together to get roflmao if it's really funny and u feel like typing a bunch of silly letters :P

"lol" means "laugh out loud"-- The person typing is saying that they are laughing out loud. It is a shortcut to typing how much your comment made them laugh.
It took me a while to understand these things, too.
