I think the secret to a really good cat eye look is to line the inside of your lower lashes. It puts a layer of black right next to the white of your eyes and looks fab. Most makeup people will tell you not to do this, infections, blah, blah, blah. But take a really close look at makeup in magazines like Adriana Lima in Victoria's secret, and you can see that this is what they've done. This is the secret. Line the inside of the bottom lashes and the inner corner of your eyes. Doesn't matter what shape they are, this is so dramatic and lovely. Then, just do a wider, upswept, smudged eyeliner on the upper lashes on the outside corner. gold or grey or even deep hunter green are all very cat eye. smokin. Just wash off your eye makeup really well before you go to bed, and don't do this every day. Freshly sharpen the tip of your pencil with a sterilized sharpener.

Use a very thin eyeliner in dark brown, bringing the line up at the outside edge of the eye. Use goldie-brown eye shadow on your lower lid and soft gold just under your eyebrow. Don't over do it and there is little chance of looking goth, but it will be cat-like and go with your coloring.

I love the answer given by historydoc! Using a gold tone, or another subtle shade on your lid, will create more of a catlike effect.
When I go feline, I love the drama of black eyeliner drawn in a bold stroke. Paired with a shimmery gold eyeshadow, the effect is sleek, sexy, and more Egyptian than goth. Add some gold dust to your cheeks and a shiny nude lip gloss, and trust me - you'll feel like an exotic princess.

I am not female. When I look at woman I usually think they are goth by what they wear. I think you could pull it off any way you want, but it depends on how you are dressed.

Don't put the eyeliner on too thick around the eyes. If you don't put so much on, you won't look like you're goth.

just extend your eyeliner out and up a little to make the round eye appear longer and more almond shaped...and under neath the lash make a little line under just half under the lashes and out to meet the other top line...look at a cat's eyes and draw the lines like their's are...

of your eye.
Then fill in the outter corner of eye and put a thin line
of liner on the bottom lashes.

Yes.
But cat eyes are more of a 60s thing, than a goth thing.
looking goth is not going to kill you, if you like it.
