I was Using my laptop this morning and everything was just fine until this evening..when I turned it on, it came on for about 3 sec. and shuts down, I thought that's it's out of battery so I plugged it in but it didn't do anything it wont even show any light. Has anybody heared or experienced this...I'm thinking its a bad motherboard but I can't be sure.

Dunno for sure but dont be too hasty on blaming the pute. Go to radioshack and invest in a cheap volt meter, put it on dc volts and measure the voltage at the output of the charger....the charger will tell you what it should be for voltage....sounds more like the charger took a dump to me....it may also be the battery.

I suggest checking the battery first before moving on to the motherboard. Like the answer above me said, you could check the charge comming from the socket and charger but it sounds like it could be hardware relating directly to the laptop. If your willing to buy a new battery, do so. The motherboard is a pretty big leap to take but you maybe right. However, if you are, you'll be losing the laptop for longer than a couple hours. (unless you know how to replace it yourself) Try the multimeter, check the battery, and lastly, check inside the "box"
