what setting in win xp or ie 6.0 do i need to change to view the photos?

that appear on a compiled home page like www.excite.com or yahoo.com? All I get are red X's. When I want to click a link on somethink like fatwallet.com it tells me not available. I think fatwallet "redirects" a request from a link. I think it has something to do with getting info from another source but can't quite find the right setting to change. TIA

In IE, click tools --> Internet Options --> Advanced Options (tab) --> (Scroll to) Show pictures (tick box), Show image Dithering (tick box), Enable Auto Image Resizing (tick box), and anything else that seems to be a good thing to change while your there.
