For me it is a family related thing. All the woman in my family have it during pregnancy.
1. Red meats
2. Pretnatal vitamins with added iron
3. or if having problems digesting childrens vitamins work temporarily.
4. Fish, also helped me.
When my iron would get low i would drag and my eyes were
distorted. And quite dizzy.
Also, check your sugar level. If you have problems with that, like i do, anemia and low-sugar will set you off as similar symptoms.

I developed anemia during pregnancy, even though I ate right and took those HUGE prenatal vitamins. I guess pregnancy just takes alot of nutrients----your body will actually give them to your baby before it will use them for you. It was about 1-1/2yrs. after my baby was born before my iron levels got regulated! Til then, I froze all of the time and my skin looked "washed out". My hair shed real bad and my nails were brittle (which they'd NEVER been before!) My doctor gave me iron supplements, but they made me nauseous. I just tried eating more meat and dark green veggies.

TAKE IRON ORALLY
You need to take an iron and vitamin C suppliment together about 300mg iron
It will constipate you so make sure to increase your fruit fibre and fluids
MORE IRON IN YOUR DIET

then you need to talk to your DR/Midwife re iron Intramuscularly for a few weeks and or an infusion

As soon as I knew I was pregnant I started taking prenatal vitamins. After I saw the doctor I started on iron pills as well. I think I felt fine, just the usual stuff.
