Get a thesaurus, that way you can expand your vocabulary and still know what you are saying.

Don't be a poser. Be yourself and make an effort to read more so that you naturally expand your vocabularly. Most people (of even moderate intelligence) can sniff out bullshit a mile away. If you go around using fancy words, but have little substance to back those words up, you will be perceived to be transparent and pathetic. So again, just be yourself--albeit, the best version. :) Hold your head high, smile, make eye contact, speak confidentantly and with a soft tone. You'll fly by just fine.

The best words are ones that flow naturally. You can look up in the thesaurus words that have tha same meaning as words you are familiar with and use one or two per week until you get comfortable with them . YOu can also consider if the word would sound impressive to you.

Make a note of the words you come across that you don't know the meaning of. Continually keep track of those new words and add them to your vocabulary and daily usage.

In my opinion, big words aren't going to make you sound smart, but using the right words wisely will.
