It means "don't listen.. don't hear this".
If your daughter claims to be an old soul, she probably IS an old soul... that's something a 3 year old would not make up.
If your daughter claims to see ghosts, she probably does. Many times, the very young see spirits but their parents don't believe them and they stiffle that ability until the child loses the ability to see spirits. If the ghost is friendly and protective I wouldn't worry too much... but I would certainly ask her to tell me all about her friend and really monitor the friendship to make certain her benevolent friend was not replaced by a less well-meaning entity.
When I was young I could see spirits and I knew what someone was going to say before they said it and I knew when a visitor was coming and who it was before they knocked on the door. My parents were strict Catholics and they ridiculed me until I made the conscious decision to not see spirits or have pre-cognitive abilities... so now I don't.!

A reference to the flintlock days The hammer had to be locked in the safe position (half cock) Then the gun could be loaded safely and primed safely Also where the term going off half ****** comes from If you forgot to pull the hammer all they was back before engaging a target you were going off half ****** The term that references the Garand was Load and Lock John Wayne blew the line in an old movie and it was left in place, or he and a a writer did not known proper military speak of the day and got it reversed My grandfather loved to correct Duke every time we watched the movie together

lock you ears, basically means don't listen.
I can imagine someone at some point in time has said this to your daughter. Told her to put her hands over her ears and "lock" 'em in place. It's cool that you support the idea your daughter might be an ol' soul, but I wouldn't put much stock in it, until she starts spouting lines from a book she's never read.

True, it means don't listen. I don't know if your daughter is an old soul or if she actually sees ghosts; to this, I suggest you lock your ears. She could just be going through a phase, or something... At least you're nice to her about it, true or not...

I haven't heard of such. As to your daughter... It is very possible that she does have a gaurdian spirit. After all what is a gaurdian angel? children are more open to the spiritual realm than us adults. They are not told often that it is their imagination. Remember having an imaginary playmate? Most children do have them, and then the jaded adult world pushes such "nonsense" aside. It could be a family member that has passed on that visits. As long as she is happy and unharmed welcome the spirit and the protection it gives.

Lock your ears means don't believe anything you hear, and only about half of what you see, things are not always the way they may look.
