you find out you let me know. i'm going crazy. I want to grow my own food. make my own clothes. gather water from a spring. get rid of all of my material possessions except a few that just make life easier - yet i can't even afford to buy the property to do it.
i've though of starting a commune, but i would worry that it wouldn't work out. i don't think i could convert to the amish religion, though i dig their way of life to some extent.
i'd like some modern conveniences/technology (like indoor plumbing, haha) but in order to have that, you're dependent on corporations .

Shackle yourself a little longer whilst saving your heart out, only then when you have $$ to buy land out right and can maintain that land and let it pay for itself.
Every time you leave the house - you spend money right? Ask yourself is this purchase a need or a want? Do you need the most expensive shoes, or a cell phone, or even kitchen paper towels when a simple rag will wipe up the same spill?
I think most of us want the peace but we also want the doo-dads. If you want the doo dads, then you have to stay shackled.

You have to decide, if living in a capitalist corporate world where you spend most of your existence thinking about money makes you happier than living out in the country with basic needs covered and living amoung nature. One big shot once told me, he spent most of his life building up a company and lost his health, all the money he earned is now spent on his ailing health, ironic huh?
