i was jsut reading the book the clique by lisi harrison and for some reason its depresing. i mean it doesnt make me laugh or anything. its almost to the point to be depressing;. i know alot of poeple like the book, but i think its annoying and it puts up a really bad name for bieng rich. i mean rich poeple are not that mean.

I love the book. It makes me laugh and I enjoy reading it. I have read the first, second, and third. I don't think rich ppl are mean or anything. Massie is one rich person that is mean tho. If your not in school and aren't around people that are almost in a clique of their own it's hard to understand. If you are then I'm sorry you don't like it

You're right: there are SOME truly nice rich people out there...but that's not really the focal point of "The Clique". The social / political dynamics of the book can pretty much be applied to ALL facets of personal and business society.
Many of us minion workers come to work every day, do a darn good job--even going well above and beyond. But in the end, it's the ones in "the clique" who get tapped for "employee of the month", their ideas are sincerely heard, they're invited to off hours parties....oh.....and they're shoe-ins for promotions and other career advancements.
The outside minion workers.....well....they warm the bench, helpless other than to be ignored and watch it all go by them.
The hardest job for these folks is to put on the best "good sport" face, while inside--they carry the hurt feelings and anger at being snubbed and in some cases, discredited.
This IS the real world....and it's going on somewhere right now.

it doesn't really give a bad name for the rich-I mean, yeah massie and her friends are shallow, but it's not like that's a complete lie-and many of the characters are pretty nice..for example, Kendra always turns her rings upside down so the diamonds don't show when they're around less fortunate people.
