is there a good pop up blocker that i can download from a site? and a trojan killer ? doesnt have to be all in one but i just need something to clean out my computer for free and effectively

For a trojan killer, go for norton antivirus or mcafee virusscan. I recommend you to install service pack 2 becuase it offers great security and has a very powerfull pop up blocker. If you cant go for that then install yahoo toolbar with antispy as it offers both pop up blocking and antispyware. For cleaning of your pc , go for crap cleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com

I just use Netscape Navigator, it has a pretty good popup blocker. I've been using it for over a year and have only had a couple popups from one website. Otherwise, it says it's blocked upwards of 1800 popups in the past year, and it's a free download.

Googlebar and yahoo bar both do this for IE. However the best thing I can advise is to use Firefox which has popup blocking built in, and is also much more secure than IE. I also personally don't know how people use a browser without tabs. Firefox will also help cut down on concerns about web based virus infections.
