How are you measuring your speed? I recommend testing things a few times with something like the speed test available on broadbandreports.com.

Make sure you are clear on the difference between speed in bits (1.5 mbps) and speed in BYTES, which most software that transfers files will report. If you are receiving 461kB, then you're doing much better than 1.5mbps ;)

I'm guessing you knew this, but it's worth reiterrating. Make sure that the problem is not throttling on the server side, and there are also tools like ping and traceroute that can help you probe the issue. It might be your ISP, but you want to rule out those other things before you start calling and complaining.

So they claimed 1.5 Mbps as download speed and you get 461 Kbps. Yes i checked the website they do the same. Well as it is wireless broadband nothing much you can do. If it would have been cable or SL it would be different. Instead call their customer support line and give them the details.

Any telecommunications rep will tell you that what you purchased is UP TO 1.5 mbps. Not even guaranteed at your location to get that speed. Many factors do figure in to that. As long as you get something, there will be no compensation for a slower mbps.
