I can't imaging a pair of 500.00 shoes that ANYONE would need. That's just nuts. But as far as the original questions, if your budget is such that $500.00 is noticeable (as in you are not married to Donald Trump) then that kind of money spent isn't going to be hidden, and it's totally not right to hide. I think any purchase over $75-$100 that is for fluff should be discussed.

don't do it, he will find out......... but i guess you could buy them and when he askes you about the bill tell him that you bought a ton of clothes, not just the shoes.

I'd be more concerned with the fact you feel the need to hide the purchase. If the purchase is justified, why would you need to hide it?????
