The range of a wireless router depends on the brand of router, its location, how many walls, interference from other equipment etc...
You can buy booster antenna for some brands but 2 miles for a off the shelf router?I can reach mine from about 50 yards on a good day.

Assuming that you're talking about a wireless router, it depends primarily upon the antenna. With the standard antennas, about 300 feet is tops assuming that there are no walls between the router and the computer. With the right parabolic antenna, you can get up to 22 MILES. I'm running an 18 mile shot with a pair of Cisco Aironet WAPs with parabolic dishes at each end and we're getting about 8 mb/sec.

Indoors most routers have a range of approximately 150 feet, outdoors double/triple that (depending on the weather conditions).

I doubt if you can find a router that good (going up to 2 miles).
