I'm curious .... Did you post this question BEFORE you posted the one about closed-minded people??

Just wondering .... because some of the answers you've gotten to this question so far seem incredibly closed-minded. I even got kinda discouraged after seeing them.

Anyway, I've not seen the movie yet, but I'm going to see it tonight. From the sound of it, I have a feeling I won't walk out of the movie and call it bad names.

9:30 p.m.: Just returned from seeing the movie, and yes, it did make me want to cry. It also made me think about a lot of things, including why there are so many people whose minds are closed against this issue.

Keeping in mind that I think that Clinton, Gore, and Kerry made up some of the most intelligent minds in our nation's history, and I would have loved to see all of them running our country. My respect for Al Gore has increased tremendously after seeing this movie (and it was high already), because his sincerity and intelligence is so obvious to everyone who sees this movie.

But unfortunately, he does not inspire change. The movie spends 1.5 hours talking about the very real threat of global warming in very intellectual terms - graphs, numbers, poignant illustrations of how the earth is changing and how it will continue to dehydrate into oblivion. However, it wasn't until the credits rolled that the producers indicated WHAT WE CAN DO. Many people left as soon as they saw the first credits start to roll. I stayed until the end and watched all the suggestions roll in along with the credits, wishing that the producers had thought to make these ideas part of the movie. If only they had made the movie HALF inspiration to change, I think it would have spoken louder -- and not only to those who already believe in the problem.

It is an important movie to watch, and I'm sorry for those who've said they walked out, or thought it was 'propaganda.' I get annoyed with the "me, me, me"-ism of politicians also (and there was some of that in this movie, to be honest), but I just wish we would not ignore the deeper message behind it. I will encourage people to watch the movie as well, and to learn more about what I can do to reverse the damage being done to this planet.

Just the existence of this film makes me want to never ever vote for another Democrat. Politicians shouldn't be making propaganda films. It smacks of Triumph Of The Will.

A friend and I walked out on it after the first 20 min. That was more than enough for me to see.
