I am a teacher for kindergarteners at a daycare this summer. We have a lot of free time some days and most of the time, the children just play. I am in need of some fun activities to do with my kids! Thanks! :)

Treasure hunts (work on prepositions and directions)
Puppet shows (work on social skills and turn-taking)
Play dough (and you can work on letters this way)
All different painting crafts. You can make different kinds of paints:
edible:
food coloring or kool-aid +
yogurt or whip cream
Add raisins, nuts (careful of allergies), and other edible things for texture variations
inedible but still fun:
Glue & kool-aid or food coloring = great smell and you can stick in feathers and yarn
There is a website with all different paint "recipes", but sorry, I can't remember it.
But here's another website
www.crayola.com (it's been a while, that might not be exactly it.)

Have fun!

Kids love to paint, so let them make masks (using paper plates and yarn) where they paint the faces. There are several online sites that can give you detailed instructions for "Rainy Day" crafts. You can also play (outdoors) the old stand-bys like "Duck, Duck, Goose", "Mother, May I?" or "Tag". My daughter is 5, and she loves to play "Horseshoes" with the plastic set I bought. You can also get the soft set of bowling, which is good for indoor or outdoor play.

Fingerpaints! Music is also great for kids. If you or a friend play a guitar or whatever instrument, kids love to sing. And I'm sure you already have story time, right?

Have fun!

I did this with my own kids it might work for you. I took pics of them and lamenated them ...then i gave them those wipe off markers and let them decorate thierselves. Games that my parents use to play came in handy with my kids also.....like hopscotch......and marbles...of course the marbles are choking hazards. Ring toss games and also never failed me yet...hide and seek and tag. Hope this helps.
