want to put up with more than one hormonally driven human being?

As a man, there are different times that I am looking for different things from a wife. Women often complain that they have to wear so many hats (Lover, Friend, Mother, Housekeeper, etc.), and some ladies are better at one of those then the others...I think a man would be looking to marry one woman who enjoys caring for kids, another who is a "career driven" type, one who he can enjoy quiet walks and "grow old" with, etc. And when one isn't "in the mood" he can usually find someone who is

BTW - Most polygamist wives prefer NOT to sleep with their husbands, and I know two polygamist familes (well..officially married to one woman, but has several "live in" ladies) and the wives draw straws - the loser with the short straw *has to* sleep with him if he's in the mood.

Personally, I don't feel "called to that lifestyle" but I can't deny that I am interested in other women. It human nature - otherwise Affairs would be pretty rare

It works better for the wife. I studied an entire episode on the disasters of polygamy for men, yet it works for many wives of Tibet...who in turn, have multiple husbands. They seemed to live an almost perfect existence.

Interesting* heh.

In the sect Fundamentalist Latter Day Saints, marriage to at least 3 women is required to effect the man's entry into Heaven.

I think that's because it's easy to get caught up in the benefits without considering the responsibilities of having multiple wives. I think it's a dream polygamist men probably snap out of very quickly.

With all due respect, saying that it takes courage to marry more than one woman is like saying it takes courage to win a million dollars. And just like winning a million dollars, having more than one wife can turn out to be more of a curse than the blessing many guys assume it is.

I never came up with a reason to get married once. Those Polygamist...or however you spell it...they should be looked up to, not put down...marrying more then one women takes courage.

You left something out about the later day saints polygamy.Women are also required to be married ,be dutiful to their husband so their husband gets them into heaven not them.
