This is not a virus or any other type of Malicious program. The program you have tried to run simply tried to do something outside the parameters of your computer. Basically your OS or hardware cannot do what the program is telling it to do.
I have had this problem before i was never able to fix it, other than running the program on another computer.

There is no patch for this, unless you update your OS or download some firmware.

Download any updates from your computer manufacturesers website then try running the program again.

98SE? Really? That's 6 year old software. Is it running on a 486? Ok seriously...

An "illegal operation" is a program failure usually caused by a bug.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illegal_operation

It's most common causes are:
1. Programming error.
2. Hardware failure.

Since your OS is 6 years old it could be either. The latest Microsoft security patch that just came out wrote off Windows 98 as hopless to patch.

sounds like you got hit by the new adware programs out there,
and you also got phished. you need a good anti spy ware program that will remove that and guard against it in real time a good one (Anti-spyware program is spy doctor) that you can download off of netscape.com and please buy the full program cause the free version only guards from when you downloaded on and soes nothing for the files that were infected on your computer. the full version will do both you need $20.00
