Could be hungry...attention...It is okay to let your baby cry. Just put him in the crib for a few mins and try to feed him...that might just get him tired enough to sleep.

The baby needs to sleep and rest, cuddled and pacified. Love and nurture the baby, feed him/her warm milk, make sure he's comfortable, change diaper and swaddle in nice warm, fuzzy blankie.

talk to it, tell the baby a story, if that dont work, you start crying, then the baby is going to want to know, why are you crying, and stop

Check if they are hunger, pained or annoyed for anything.
