Well that depends on what you like. Turtles are great if you want a super-low maintenance pet. You want a pet that might as well be a kid? Then a dog would be best. Personally, I enjoy cats. They have their needs, but for the most part are happy being alone and they come potty trained!

OK, the rock was mentioned a few times but that isn't very original. So, how about a brick. And not just any brick, a red brick. Yes, a nice, bright red brick. And you should come up with a clever name. Name it after a famous actor or actress...such as Rock...you know, Rock Hudson. Oh, then you would have a pet brick named Rock. That wouldn't work. Maybe you could name it Phil. Phil the brick. Yes, that has a nice ring to it...

Get a pet rock if you arent up to the challenge of caring for a pet for its lifetime. Pet rock wont die like the poor guinea pig.

I don't know about the fish it's not that easy if you want it to be healthy but you can start with the small betta fish.
All you need is a small jar, disteled water and to feed the little guy 3 times a week. Just remember you can't have two because they are fighters or you just can get RObot pet/
Good luck with your fish:)

in what way are you talking best pet to take care of? a spider is easy to take care of, especially a tarauntula because you don't need to pick it up, you just put fresh water and crickets in the cage and it leads its life like that.
A fish is really easy because all the hard work is in cleaning out the bowl which isnt hard at all but if you don't want a fish, a water frog is just like one but cooler. Don't feed it too much like i did when i was younger, it actually exploded because it was fat.
Hermit crabs are simple too, just put in lots of shells and food and off you go.

Try mice, they are small so don't eat much, and can go in a small cage, and are easy to keep entertained (just keep the cores from toilet rolls and put them in the cage for a tunnel!).
Fish are hard work because you need to keep the aquarium clean, and have a filter, and if you get tropical fish you need to keep the water the right temperature etc.

why not try fish?
get a small aquarium (20 gallon) for a start, that will accommodate 3-4 fishes. decorate it with the usual stuff, (you will be amazed of how much variety of designs, blings, accessories you can put on your aquarium)
choose from cold water fishes or tropical ones (will require a heater).
the feeds ( flakes or pellets) are quiet cheap too. it's low maintenance. not too much hassle compared to 4-legged pets.
good luck!

Fish are low maintenance, and cats are too. Cats only require food, water, a clean litter box and lots of love to be happy.
