You can get a free 14 day trial at ancestry.com and get all of that info, then cancel your trial membership before the 14 days is up. Don't forget to cancel your trial membership though, they will charge your card and it is pretty expensive. Also, if the person is dead you can get their social security number from there. It will also tell you if some other family member is doing your family tree and you can send them a message letting them know you are researching your family tree so you can swap information. ( they have to be researching through ancestry.com though). If you give ancestry.com your credit card # they will run a small amount on it just to verify that it is an active account, but they will not charge it until the trial is up.

Start with yourself and work backwards.
Death certificates are good and can apply for one from your local health department for about $5.00. They will have the parents name of the deceased on them, so you will have another generation to explore. Birth certificates the same. Marriage certificates at courthouses.
Census records were taken back in the 1800's they went door to door writing down the information, if someone did not say the name clear, unfortunately this led to misspelling of the last name esp. since most people could not read and write well. Example: one branch of my family is Presnell. This name derived from Presley. In the 1800's the "s" was also written in their time period as a "f" looking character. I actually happened upon a census record of my greatx3 grandfather on microfilm at a historic library about 5 years ago. Tells you how many in household, age, # of slaves, occupation. I was amazed that I was viewing something so rare that was actually connected to me. Fortunately for me also, the Ward branch, the Presnell branch, Hicks branch, and the Harmon branch all wrote books on the family lines, so I had actually very little research to do on my mothers side. Good luck !
