This is an awesome question. If someone is born blind they do not have the images that sighted people have. So what imagery could their minds form?

I am certain that blind people dream. But what does their mind's eye "see"?

Might depend on whether they were born from birth or not too.

Famous story in Vedic scritpure tells of a blind man (blind from birth) named Dhratarastra being given a vision about the famous battle of Kurketsetra, the one where Krsna talks to Arjuna, their conversation that is the entire Bhaghavad Gita....it was relayed to Dhratarastra via his "heart," the place where the individual soul-spark and God within resides.

So the "outer physical EYEBALL sense of material vision" is not the same as the "other worldly (non-matter) inner spiritual eye sense.

I've heard that if a blind persons eyesight is restored, they are possibly likely to commit suicide, because they can not take the images to what they see compared to what the thought they would see. So they dream, but the whole color thing is hard to comprehend.

No they can't visualize in dreams unless they were capable to see before. They certainly dream because it's the way brain stores and connects day experiences with knowledge previously acquired.Their dreams consist of sounds, smells, tactile experiences and tasting ones.

I would doubt that a person born without sight would see visual imagry in a dream. My guess is that they would experience a dream with the same senses that they experience life. It's a good question, though. One I've never thought of.
