it's jimmy cracks corn and I dont care
jimmy cracks corn and I dont care
jimmy cracks corn and I dont care
my masters gone away

the song was sung by a slave. cracking corn is a farm job. jimmy was working cracking the corn. the other slave(the singer) was not going to work(i dont care). his master was not there to make him. the singer was taking the day off.

dried corn used as animal feed needs to be cracked into pieces for the animal to digest it, otherwise the entire kernal passes throught the animal in its original form.

Cause there are a lot of insensitive people in the world and no one really cares about anything. They don't care if you crack corn, don't crack corn...or whatever.
Personally to me it would all depend on who the hell Jimmy was.

Because you have to have something to do while you're cracking corn. I've asked this question before to my family and friends the answer I got was because Jimmy did something bad and had to go crack corn and no one was supposed to pay attention to him.

Cause Greg, Jimmy's brother, was into writing songs after he got back from the Navy. So Jimmy said, OK and Greg said OK and Sue Ellen said OK.

Night John boy.
