Restaurant ratings don't have much significance for me and my wife, because the rating sort of reflects the viewpoint and taste of the person who rated it. I happen to like simple foods, picnics, things that don't have alot of sauce, butter, fancy presentations, etc. A 5-star restaurant rating may only be a one star for me. It really has to do with your individual taste and what you truly enjoy in food. Most cooking shows on TV seem to suggest that recipes with the most butter, the richest taste, etc, is culinary heaven. Not for me though. :(

It seems that almost every restaurant has been voted number 1 for something. Can this be true? Well, you don't see any restaurants advertising that they are the 5th best restaurant in the city or voted the worst restaurant in the city. It's all fluff.

I like reading ratings by "regular" people instead of ones by the pros.
