Start with working on your capitalization. Then study English. Then go and figure out how to be interesting.

Well, if you mean in college, then I suggest English. Find a college with creative writing courses.

Of course, you don't have to get a degree in English. Personally I suggest that you get a degree you can use to get a career and write on the side. Most people who write don't make a living off of it. Have a back-up plan.

Also, every author I've heard talk about their writing says that they read a lot. Just read. Read all kinds of books. Trust me, it'll make you a better writer. You'll learn from others how to write, what works, etc.

As a writer I say you should study some of your favorite peices and see what draws you in to them add that element, then read some books you dont like then try to get into the book and find out what the author thought to write this and you might wind up enjoying it let me know.

i wish it were as easy as studying somthing to become a writer. what it really takes is making connections and getting an MFA. Publishers wont even open your stuff if you dont have those three letters after your name... my advice? try to go to a good liberal arts school and get a degree in creative writing, and make lots of friends among the professors. imagine its like an aweful exclusive club you have to get in. good luck.

Creative writing, if you want to write fiction. However, keep in mind that there are many aspiring authors out there, and many of them are waiting tables or working at Target because their novels haven't sold. So it's always good to have a backup plan, like double majoring, or at least minoring in something practical, like business or science or economics.

Language Arts, Literature, Composition, Journalism, Creative Writing, History, Philosophy, and whatever subject necessary to write effectively for your genre. For example, if you want to write crime/mysteries you would want to brush up on Criminal Justice and Forensics.

there are two books which are the bibles of writing. Number one, the "Elements of Style" by by William Strunk Jr. and EB White. Number two, "On Writing" by Stephen King.
And by the way, you will need one of your high school English grammer books.
