It varies for different women. Some have no cramps at all, others have minor cramps, others have such severe cramps that they literally have to spend the day in bed. It varies from one period to the next, as well.

Cramps are normal for most women. The muscles in the uterus contract to shed the lining that has accumulated over the past month. This muscle contraction can be painful. However, if it is extremely painful, it may be more than just normal cramps. Things like endometriosis (where the uterine lining grows outside the uterus), cysts or polyps, or pelvic inflamatory disease can change your period from normal cramping to excruciating pain.

If over the counter pain relievers (ibuprofen is best for most women) don't relieve the pain, you should talk to your doctor.

because we are passing the inner lining of the uterus (the endometrium) that builds up in preparation for a possible pregnancy. If the egg is not fertilized by a sperm, the current lining of the uterus is no longer needed. The woman's estrogen and progesterone hormone levels decline and the lining of the uterus becomes swollen and dies. It is then shed and will be replaced by a new lining in the next monthly cycle.

When the old uterine lining begins to break down(which is our blood flow)compounds called prostaglandins are released. These compounds, specifically prostaglandin cause the muscles of the uterus to contract causing cramps

Not all girls do. The thing to do is to make sure that if you know your period is about to start, take advil or something before you start to keep the pain at bay.

Basically it comes from the lining of your uterus shedding away and leaving your body. It causes a lot of cramps because of the lining shedding from your uterus.

Wait until eventually eventually you're older and performance to emphasize with the thigh discomfort! now and again once you're youthful you get classes or era discomfort mid-month as your body/hormones form themselves out. If this occurs better than a pair of cases communicate with your Mum/instructor/Aunt etc who will be in a position to grant advice. GP/Nurses could continuously be in a position to assist in case you imagine your cycle isn't 'everyday'. do not difficulty although, it frequently takes a pair of yrs for the cycles to get any style of everyday.

For me, it was because I was pre-diabetic and did not know it. Tylenol or Ibuprofen (Motrin - Advil) worked the best for me. Of course, getting my blood sugar under control does the best for me.
