Make up some coupons saying that you would help her around the house. Unless you have a maid!!! Or for a nice massage; shoulders, nice foot massage. Its worth a try.

Honestly? If you have a lousy mom who hasn't done much for you, don't bother doing anything. However, if she's a great mom you adore....make the effort to do something! Most good moms don't want to see you spend a ton of money on material things if you can't afford it. So....can you write a poem? A letter remembering something happy from childhood? Could you make dinner for her? Breakfast? Dedicate a song on the radio? Order a magazine subscription for her and wrap up an issue of the magazine with a note saying she'll be getting more! Many subscriptions are under $20 and you don't have to buy it right away....just send it out this week. In other words, do something to let her know she's on your mind and important. That's the problem with the world today. We're all moving too fast to put effort into the little caring things. And yes, I'm sometimes guilty of that, too!

The coupon book is an excellent idea. Stick in 10 minute back rubs, doing dishes, vacuuming, washing dishes, cooking dinner, etc., all with a smile on your face. Mom will love it more than anything you could have bought. Trust us mothers on this one.

My mother's birthday is Sunday... yes, on Father's Day and I have some ideas for the both of us: cook her breakfast. Do the chores. If the weather permits, plan a picnic in the park (with whatever you have at home). Just spend time with her. After I get off of work on Sunday, I plan on spending time with my Mom and Dad and share their special day with them.

the other ideas are really good ones. make her a nice card.. oh! and don't make her upset when she has to hassle you about cleaning up your messes.. drawing up a nice relaxing bath with some candles might work.. cooking for a busy mom never hurts either! hope i helped! :P

if your garden's full of marvelous flowers (or maybe your neighbors!), pick some and make a bouquet of kaleidoscope of colors...find some paper boards and paint it with watercolors, handprint : "i love you mom, happy birthday...", when you're done, sneak in her bedroom just before she wakes up in the morning and put it in the table next to her...she'll even love the day when she wakes up and smell the aroma of something cooking for breakfast, and that'll be you...
extend my greetings to your mom too!

well as a mom myself, i would enjoy that you clean the house or make me a coupon book of the chores or things you are willing to do for me, my daughter made me a book such as this with , one clean the kitchen without whining, clean my room, do the laundry, you know things like that, walk the dog, water the plants, moms don't neccesarily need you to buy them things, or perhaps make her breakfast in bed, or make her dinner. hope this helps

more than any material gift, the biggest gift to a mother would be making her feel special. start by breakfast in bed to a candlenight dinner. just allow her to relax. that would be the best!

Make her a card from scratch and see what you have around the house and maybe make her breakfast or dinner

cook, or bake, spend time with her during her favorite activity, watch a video/dvd you both love, wash her car or clean the house, send her an e-card and take her out on a later date.
