It is going to be okay!
This happens allot - just asked in school. Maybe
you have a guidance councilor at your school you could talk to.
Talk to your parents about how you feel and that you love them both and you would like to share them equally
- visiting, spending time with each parent.
They should not fight over " Who gets custody rights".
If possible stay with the parent that will not move away,
so you can stay in the same school and be with your friends. They can be of great emotional help to you too.
I wish you all the best and hope you make it through the
ruff parts of this situation. It will get better - things just take time.

You will still have both of them in your life. Talk to some of your friends whose parents are divorced, you'll realize how common it is, and that they're ok. If your parents fought, or one of them was depressed, at least that will be better. It's not really going to be easy. It is a loss, acknowledge that, cry if you need to. But really, you will not be as bad as you think of it now, even if you have to move. Get into your studies or sports, uplifting music, journal writing, good friends. Pray if you're religious. Do NOT hurt yourself, smoke, drink, do drugs, or be sexually careless. you are not to blame and you have a life of possibilities and joy and helping others and contributing positively to the world ahead of you.

If you have lot of love and respect for both parents then stay close to both of them.. Share your time with both parents, and always remember don't let the problems between your parents ruin you life and happiness. Stay clear of the problems they have and just concentrate on the things that interest you and keep a good line of communications open to both parents.. Don't be swayed by either to take sides. There will be adjustments that you will have to make but keep positive and you will be OK. Good luck.

My parents got divorced when I was 10. It was really tuff at first but now it's the best thing that ever happened. I have 2 homes. 2 moms, 2 dads, more family.

I know it feels like the end of the world right now. But it DOES get better. I'm sure they have their solid reasons, NONE of which has to do with YOU! Besides, you are now OFFICIALLY a part of the 'normal world'. You will now begin to notice how many of your friends are in the same boat. Continue to love them both for who they are....While you grow into a beautiful woman of courage, from this experience!

Talk to them together and seperately. Your parents are divorcing each other not you. They love you and want to help you through this. Talk to a trusted friend and explain how you feel. Talk to a tusted relative, minister or teacher. Remember it's not your fault and they both really love you.

The best you can do is stand pat. If they have already made their minds up, anything you say or do will only inflame the situation. Accept it as it is and give them both a show of your love and loyalty.
