The first difference would be their geographical location. Mesopotamia was located in the Tigris-Euphrates River Valley. Greece is located along the Aegean Sea. As a result of their locations, the Mesopotamians were primarily farmers and the Greeks were mostly fishermen and herders too. The mountainous soil of Greece made it hard to grow crops so they couldn't establish a surplus of crops and had to rely more on fishing and herding. While both worshiped a pantheon of gods, the gods were different in that some of the Mesopotamian gods were half human and half animal. The Greek gods weren't. Both were city states and the two well known of the Greeks were Athens and Sparta. If my memory serves me correctly, Ur was one of the major city states of Mesopotamia. The Mesopotamians wrote in symbols called Sanskrit which looks like a bunch of wedged dashes and the Greeks used a letter alphabet based on the Phoenicians alphabet. The Greeks were more advanced scientifically, militarily and philosophically. The Greeks also were the first democracy and our system of government is based on the Greeks' ideas. However, the Mesopotamians get credit for the first written law code-- Hammurabi's Code. I can go on and on, but I think this touches on the main differences between the two.

Ummm there are many diferances. First of was certainly the ground of each civilisation, greece land was very rocky so the couldn't make lot of agriculture, so they population grown very slovely... Second aspect is the way they had devlop they science, mesopotamia has devloped the whell, but greece was much more advanced with many mathematic equations and the first alphabet. After that, in greece, at the Athens city was devloped the first democraty, where only citezens(13% of the people) had the right to vote, but it was a democraty.

In conclusion, Mesopotamia has been devloped first(in 8000 to 5000 before J-C) and Greece was devloped a little bit after(in 2000 to 500 before J-C).

Hope it's helps you, goodbye ;)

Mesopotamia was one of the earliest civilizations near the area known as the fertile crescent. Greece was an empire that relied on city states(polis), individual areas that had their own form of governments. Greece is credited with the first great philosophical thinkers starting with Socrates, stating that humans were rational beings able to think and answer for themselves instead of relying on religion. Doctors starting trying to explain illness based on the physical not the spiritual. Greek history developed in the 5th century bce due to to preserve and explain, esp the Persian War and the Peloponnesian war. Most literature of the Greeks refers to women as naturally inferior to men.
