I have only been with my girlfriend for about 3 months, but I love her to death. Her birthday is in August and I want to give her one then. We met at school but since we've both returned home (I live in Michigan, she lives in Minnesota) we haven't seen much of each other lately, though we still talked everyday. So what I want to know is...1) is it too early to give her one, 2) if it isn't too early, about how much should I spend, and 3) what type should I give her (solitaire, three stoned, ect.)?

I have heard that about half a weeks pay is about right for one, which for me would be around $200, but I would want to spend more on her. Also, she doesn't wear much jewelery, but I've been looking at rings and like the three-stoned ones. Are these ok for promise rings?

Sorry this is so long, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to everyone in advance.

I have looked at emitations.com before, but I do want to get her a real diamond. Plus I'd like to actually go to a jeweler and see it for myself before I buy it. I make about $400 a week but I still have to pay for my college tuition. No matter how much I spend on it, she'll be worth every penny.

ok, i know three months is quick, but i'm really just thinking about it right now, if it means anything, the time that i would give it to her would be in august so that would make it 5 months

What is most important isnt how much you should spend... Dont be concerned with approval based on a dollar amount. Love isnt measured by the amount of money you spend to show it. Go down to a couple of jewelry stores and buy something that YOU think is nice and that YOU think would look nice on her. It doesnt matter if you only pay $50 for it. The gift you are really wanting to give her is in your heart... and that doesnt have monetary value. If she feels the same for you, she will be happy with ANYTHING you buy her. Nothing is better than being loved for who you are.. not for what you can afford.

:) A gift is no longer a gift when the obligation to meet expectations is a factor...

My fiance's answer is: he thinks you should wait. Three months is kind of quick
My answer is: I would wait as well but I know when the heart feels like yours does it's hard to convince one to slow down. So go for the cluster type ring. If you look in my pics I have a cluster ring. It is cheaper and if it doesn't work between you, you won't feel so burnt later.
I wish you the best:)

Well, in my opinion I think $200 is wayy to much. Exspecially since you two have only been together 3 months.

Im sure, despite whether or not she wears jewelry,
she'll love it either way. Plus, promise rings are very special anyways.

Go to this site... it may help you out..
www.emitations.com

Hope I helped :]
