OK honey listen, you go to your ER they can not and do not have the right to refuse anyone because of inability to pay or show proof of insurance. If that is the case then you have a lawsuit at hand. You need to get yourself to the hospital and get checked out if in fact you are having a m/c and you are early on they will check you out and run tests and things to make sure that is what is happening-otherwise you are probably getting your period if your test came back negative two days ago, But as I tell my patients it is better to be safe then sorry. If your tests do come back and states that you are pregnant then they will do a 24 observation on you. At least that is how we do it at our hospital. Good luck and keep us updated.

Do you have a free clinic in your area?

I've had 2 miscarriages, very early on and they didn't do a d&c for either. The first was at 2 weeks and the second at 4 weeks. Most women who have miscarriages don't know it because they never even knew they were pregnant. A miscarriage early generally just is like a bad period. I'm very sorry if that's what has happened here.

The only thing my doctor did was have me go for a blood test a week after the "symptoms" to make sure all of the hormone was gone from my body, which he said would indicate that there was no longer a pregnancy.

Good luck to you. Find a free clinic and see someone to make sure it's not an ectopic pregnancy or an "incomplete miscarriage".

In the majority of places, if you don't have a free clinic, they have low to no-cost clinics run by the county you live in. You may want to call your local department of health and social services to see the locations available. Please know that as long as your bleeding does not soak several pads in an hour and you're not in horrendous pain, an ER probably won't do anything for you except tell you you're having a miscarriage and you need to follow up with your regular doctor.

Get to your nearest family planning clinic that has evening hours. They will be able to help you and they are just as good as an er. In fact they are more likely to help you with this because it is their specialty. I don't know about not doing d&cs anymore but I am sure that if you need one it can be done at the Family planning clinic. You should be checked to make sure that the afterbirth is not still attached and making you loose to much blood. Get going girl.

I think ALL ER"s have to admit you and give you treatment regardless of whether you have the money or not. I also think a D&C needs to be scheduled by your regular doctor, so you would need an exam by them first. A D&C isn't considered an emergency. My D&C was scheduled 2 weeks after I actually started bleeding.

I'm sure they still do d & c's when it is called for. If you are needing it for health reasons relating to a miscarriage, then I'm sure they will perform it for you. I don't think the ER can refuse you service unless it's a private hospital. Call your local public hospital and talk to them.

If you go to the emergency room, by law, they can NOT turn you down. They might not do many tests to rule out the problem, but if you go, maybe you will see a decent doctor who will listen to your story and at least give you an ultrasound.
