Stupidity. Think about it, if you hadn't had the "dumbing down of America" we wouldn't have a lot of the other problems that we now have. Like kids disrespecting their parents, and vice versa, (which breeds a lot of gangs, teen pregnancies and such, from kids looking for acceptance in the wrong places...) Like people with no self respect, no personal pride, (they are on welfare sucking down your tax dollars, and I'm not talking about the ones who really need it, thats why we have it...) no morals, (self-explanatory, but add in the stds, and big one- aids...just as a reminder) no character (probably because they have no self respect) and on and on the list goes.
I think the person who said that we should still socialize with neighbors was right. When people did, you had neighbors with manners, pride, self respect, morals...who had kids who were the same way. Smart people who made their own way, who didn't walk around with a chip on their shoulder thinking that society owed them something. (Everything!) Yep! Take out the stupidity factor, and we have it made.

USA's biggest social problem is the lack of respect in the individuals of the society. Why is this the biggest problem? Because this is the root to all of the other problems.
Teens today, particularly in the ghettos, don't respect their elders, neighbours and other members of the communities. They believe that they are free to do whatever they want, even if it means costing other people something. Many people, and not just teens, do not respect other people whether it is their beliefs, skin colour, ideas, or anything else. The lack of respect for other people leads to racism, descrimination, ignorance, etc. etc. etc.

The terrible mis-distribution of wealth. The top 1% of wealthy people have something like 80% of the money in America. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. The rich buy expensive crap that helps no one other than other rich people. Meanwhile, the majority of the country is at poverty level or below, with no health care and no future. Bush is currently adding to this problem.

The fact that those who are so against a welfare state will within the span of a generation have created one. To take out a mortgage on the the future to pay for the present is madness. Given the choice between raising taxes and raising deficits -take taxes .. at least it's paid for.
the loss of hard working Americans pension plans and the lack of outrage by the populace.
The increasing percentage of Americans without health care.
the loss of American jobs to over seas companies and the destruction of the small towns that depended upon those jobs for their very existence.

Sexual repression - so widespread that it has become part of the culture, masquerading as morality but really hypocritical perversion.

All those people who can see, but are blind, those people who can feel, but have no feelings, maning, all those who support their goverment and stereotype other for whom they are. There are many of those and this is the biggest of problem.

racism...in my town ( dont take this offensivly) but black and hispanic ppl which are tlakin over my town which was nice and strated to come bak is calling white ppl racial names such as craker and wonder bread and shyt....but if we say one thing hey get all up in outr faces and dstroy our stuff and hurt us and stuff..its getting really bad...and then all the white ppl try acting black so they fit in...its really getin me mad..cuz it seems liek they jjsu coming to my town but surroundin towns are all white but they just come here
