After all the" war" their fighting really is'nt doing any good to anyone, aside from hurting innocent people and making more money for their country. Maybe i'm wrongly informed, let me know.

Everyone here keeps writting that soldiers have to follow orders right or wrong. If that's the case, should a soldier help to commit genocide because his commanding officer says so? Or does this say something about what peoples morals have become? I am not a slodier, but would gladly fight and give my life for my country and a just cause, I just think that this "war" has been drifting away from its original purpose. **** democracy in Iraq, It's nobodys place to force that on its people. Or, is it?

I think you have a grasp on the situation in Iraq, we do have no business there in the first place and in all wars innocents are killed. Americans for the most part have no idea what war does to a country and its people because we have had none here since 1860. The death, the destruction that we have caused Iraq in the name of democracy is just wrong. I know that Saddam was not a cool dude but we cannot and should not try to right every wrong through out the world. It just isn't possible.

Ah, more brilliant insite from the far right that brought us this stupid war. Yo, speedx, just how more misinformed could we uneducated and uninformed people on the far left be? After all we have such well informed morans like your Prez guiding us to the truth behind this war, ya know, like the weapons of mass destruction and all. You are right (bad pun); we liberal, left of center types must be real idiots to examine such foolishness like reality, and death, and billions of dollars wasted on an unnecessary, unpopular personal agenda--oh yeah, your Prez's unnessary, unpopular, personal agenda.
Re: the original question. . .as a vet, I will say that I volunteered and that I believe in obeying orders and if I was caught up in a war as stupid as this one, oh yeah, forgot for a second, I was caught up in a war as stupid as this one--Viet Nam. Anyway, I still obeyed orders and our soldiers today obey orders even if we and they do not agree with the war; it came with the job that we asked for. Let the soldiers say what they want, at least they are taking a stand.

well, you're right, the war isnt really accomplishing anything other than creating the largest national debt ever. but those men signed up for a job, and they have to follow orders, no matter what those orders are. i've known several soldiers, and a few of my friends have spent a lot of time in the middle east throughout the last few years. and all of them that i know have told me they wish that they were never there, and that the whole situation is a terrible shame.

You are wrongly informed. 1st- you sound like you're female. The taliban version of Islam is very restrictive and demeaning to women (look it up). 2nd- I'm a Canadian soldier and only have a real grasp on Afghanistan but a country run on religion supresses free thinking and promotes a caste system. These are a few of my ideas, but everyone is entitled to their own, keep thinking and asking questions!

Your more wrongly informed by the left wing media. Most the world is. The amount of good things that our country accomplised is overwelmingly more than the bad things. There has never been a pretty, nice, fair war and this is a prime example.

lEvidently you neither know or have ever been a soldoer. If you did or had you wouldn't run your mouth. They di what they are told when they are told to do it, Right or wrong. If they weren't over there fighting terrorism, maybe they would be in your lawn fighting it. So be thankful that they defend your right to express your opinion on this sight. There are countries that ban and forbid things like we are doing here.

I figure if the are the ones putting their lives on the line, they have more right than anyone to say what they want. If I don't like I can always ignore it.
