If they sponsor your work visa, it means they pay you. They will need to report your earning and that's why they need your ss#. If you don't have one, you need to get one.

If you are a foreigner then every job in the United States will require you to have the proper work visa.

If you have a special skill, such as at a ship yard working as a out side machinist on a ship,those are hard kind of people to find.The personal of that company can sponser you and get you legal papers. And thats at any skilled job anywere that it is hard to find a good person to fill that spot. Even if it means getting a person from another country that fits their critiera.
Then of course there are open field jobs,working on farms ect.

ALL jobs in the USA require a social security number. If you are not a citizen, they ALL require a working visa.
