"good liberals"??? Don't expect liberals to ever have a spine. Then they wouldn't be liberals. As much as they sympathise with real change, they're too tied to the system to ever change it. They are cowards.

"I feel like I'm witnessing the systematic destruction of a people's ability to survive ... Sometimes I sit down to dinner with people and I realize there is a massive military machine surrounding us, trying to kill the people I'm having dinner with." -Rachel Corrie

Caterpillar is systematically profiting form ethnic cleansing, just like in Apartied South Africa the international community must force this to end. We supply all the bullets for Israelis, all the guns, all the tanks, all the planes... it is a US occupation with Israelis pulling the triggers. It is our duty to divest in this criminal occupation.

Bulldozers are heavy - obviously there is a risk of injury or death by crushing (I'm sure there are warnings about this risk illustrated on the equipment and spelled out in the operation manual). Maybe if this occurred the U.S. they could make a case against the operator, but how would the manufacturer be at fault?

Peaceful protest is fine and dandy but stupidly wandering through a demolition zone is what got this girl killed, and it could have happened just as easily here in America. This is a tragic case showing that civilians/pedestrians should stay where they belong.

If the young woman had been protesting Palestinian terrorism by sitting next to a suicide bomber in an Israeli movie theater, the outcome for her would have been the same. Sometimes protest is as dangerous as it is useless.

Gee, I think it all comes down to the voters in the good old USA who should be accountable. On moral grounds I agree with you but it's the voters who are paying for the "tools to kill" and Cat is just doing what any good business would do in taking the money.
Now I'm sure there a big kickbacks involved here and bribes for sure to get the contract but that's never going to change.

Why, because the Caterpillars aren't efficient enough at killing people? It's not a fair measure of the machine, if you ask me, because they weren't designed to kill. An atomic bomb is much more efficient. Using a Caterpillar to kill is like using your teeth to open a beer bottle. Just not the right tool for the job.

No. Caterpillar has no control over the tools it sells. They are not selling weapons they are selling construction equipment. If the end user decides to use it to destroy instead of build as the equipment was intended then the accountability is with the user.

This is the kind of crap that gives good liberals a bad name.

If the Pallestineans stopped attacking unarmed Israelies, then Israel would stop knocking down their houses.

The whole eye for an eye thing is out of control. Constant revenge creates an endless cycle of violence. Jesus got it right when he taught us to turn the other cheek, and that vengence is for God.

No

Just like suing a gun manufacture for making guns that people shooting one another with - is rediculous!

It's a business - unlike a government that supports tyranny!
