Powerpoint Sucks! Get a Mac and iWork '06! Keynote is what Steve Jobs uses for his presentations (http://presentationzen.blogs.com/presentationzen/2005/11/the_zen_estheti.html ). Pages is easier to use than Word. Both apps take a while to get used to (couple weeks) but once you do, you will never go back to Office!

Say no to Windows. Obviously Word is a Microsoft program which is made for Windows, however, Word for Mac still gets the job done. And everyone who has ever owned a Mac knows that Macs are the best. No viruses will save you all sorts of money on virus protection software and repairs to a PC. I used to be a PC user and was very skeptical about Macs, but now I wouldn't use a PC if someone gave me a brand new one. Macs are worth every dime spend!

A good Pentium 2 or newer laptop will do this with ease. I would probably go after a used one. I would recommend getting an IBM thinkpad, Compaq Armada, Panasonic Toughbook, or other business class laptop. If you are buying used do not get a Dell, Gateway, Compaq Presario, HP Pavilion or especially Sony, they are all consumer line laptops and only have a expected lifespan for 2 to 3 years from when they were manufactured. There is a big difference in the quality between business class and personal class systems, and in 6 months it will show.

a macbook is tremendous. it may do some thing the different straightforward laptop can do. you only opt to top application for it. so yeah.. you could style up a tale and print it, link your digital camera to it and move pictures, make video clips, watch video clips, pay interest to music. call it. mac has some very cool application in iWork the position you could style up your thoughts and make web page layouts and albums and all that. it is also tremendous that there is now a Microsoft workplace for mac so you might use once you're more desirable used to the MS workplace application like word or PowerPoint. this signifies that that is now no longer a difficulty analyzing archives between macs and established pcs. then there is the cool component. invaluable! :)

As a computer tech I would give my suggestion for an ACER however you should watch for deals and you should also probably get a Windows operating system if you want to do presentations. Macs aren't as easy to use for what you described and besides macks aren't that easy to fix because there aren't a whole lot of computer techs out there that can work on them. I my self can only do a little bit of work on a mac. It truly will be in the end what you prefer.

Depends on the software you are used to or familiar with. My suggestion is to use the laptop which supports your favourite presentation software because the laptops all are pretty good as far as displays are concerned. It is better to use something you are familiar with. The hardware stuff is all pretty much the same - press this button here, etc type of thing. But if you present well because you know the software, you look GOOD!! That is the idea, right?

Definitely Windows. Macs are more geared towards graphic artists, illustrators, photographers and animators. You don't need all those bells and whistles, just PowerPoint and it will lead you through the setting up process with a presentation wizard. Best of luck!

laptop computers can be a rather tricky buy at times, I would suggest that you look out for the cheapest and yet latest desktop on the market,
the best way to do this is on what they call warehouse sale markets some of them are online.
these warehouse owners have a service where they sell laptop computers to normal customers like you and me, however with very reduced prices due to the fact that they do not have as much costs as normal shops do, such as rent and a employees etc. as you know most online shops have rather competitive prices sometimes cutting the laptop price to a half.
one such website for laptop computers is :
