More than like not. He may have just unhooked something that can be put back rather simple. The door panel is very easy to remove, so it shouldn't be a big deal. I would say no more that $100 or $150 at the most.

If the person portrayed himself to be a locksmith or if he was a cab drive you could possibly sue him to make him cover half the cost.

You will have to take it to your local body shop and have them remove the door trim panel and reattach the linkage rod to the outer handle if the didn't break something trying to jimmy the door open. Possibly broke the retaining clip.

no- just take off the door panel (on the inside)) and reconnect what's missing. next time, you should jimmy the back door - any damage done is less of a problem

they knocked the clip off the handle and the rod that controls the door release. you have to remove door panel with the window up and clip it again. look in a auto parts store for the clips...out the dealer

they probably popped the linkage out of the out side handle not too hard to fix just have to pull the 'skin' off of the inside of the door...

It's probably still under warranty. Take it in and tell them it doesn't work. Don't volunteer that it was tampered with. They might cover it.
