Yes it is and I can't stand it. I think we should all be our own country and stay out of others..mind our own business...honestly...I think someone should hit that big red button and fix all the problems in 2 seconds. Wouldn't it make the world so much better?! haha!

To be a super power you need the muscle which is our military, you need the resources to pay for it which is our industries, and we have the man power which is every citizen, and you need the will to use all of them. What is begining to happen is that we are getting weak in our leadership and eventually like all super powers the time will come when the US will lose the title,it won't happen right away, but it will happen, you can see already the weakness in dealing with the immigration problem, and enemies are watching closely,The us will lose but not because some one else is better, but because we have weak leaders.

The French think we're super...or at least they did when we helped kick out the Nazis. The Germans MUST think we are super since our presence held the old U.S.S.R. from taking West Berlin for so many years. Every time someone needs humanitarian aid, they start crying to us. When some tidal wave strikes in Southeast Asia, we send money, equipment, and people. When Mexico and Central America needed loans, we obliged. Yes. Despite our weapons of war, I think we are a superpower. I am not sure, but I don't think the donations from foreign countries came POURING in when Katrina ruined the Gulf Coast...and decimated my home town. Hmmm....

Not only is it a super power, but it HAS super powers! Like the power to hold people without trial, the power to listen to its citizens' phone calls, and the power to retroactively create justifications for the subjugation of third-world countries!

I can only dream of having powers like these, but, you see, I'm restricted to using the light side of the force.

:P

They are the only super power pretty much. (But every title Regine and empire will eventually come to an end - but I think the USA will be the supreme super power for at least 100 years).

The whole world does. Every time any country gets in trouble they all ask, "Where are the Americans?" If they didn't think we had the power, why would they whine when we don't help. Does any country getting bombed, or taken over by a dictator cry, "Where are the Kiwi's?", or "Where is Mexico?" , "Oh, Canada, save us!" Nope, they all come crying to the USA!!!

Yes, the US started to become a super power after the war, when they began to lend money to a number of war torn European countries throught out the world.
Their successful demise of the Soviet Union also contibuted to boostering their world power status.

USA is a superpower like Rome was a superpower or Great Britain was a superpower.

Unfortunately Rome fell, Great Britain is now little Britain. Time giveth, time taketh away.

The U.S.A. is a superpower because the world oil market is denominated in U.S. dollars. The U.S. will remain a superpower until the day oil is no longer denominated in U.S. dollars.
