Oh that's terrible, but unexplainable events seem to happen in life..and for no "apparent" good reason. Take time to heal...that's my suggestion. And always know that it is NOT your fault, accidents happen..noones to blame.

Sad though.. Hope you feel better soon*

You can pull through. Think would you rather have had this horse be suffering in pain and shock or be suddenly relieved? I just have copped with this before. A horse at my barn just passed away from the case of really bad colic. It was so sad to see him suffering because his owners didn't want to put him down. We had to stay up all night and We finally convinced the owners that it's about time to end his misery. remeber your horse. pray for him/her. just keep your head high and think that there are other horses out there that are just as great, but don't think you have to let them take place of your old horse

I hope you will be okay!

I feel for you. I recently lost an old mare that was our babysitter horse. My grandchildren could ride her and she knew exactly how experienced each was and whether to walk or trot with them. I still get tears sometimes when I think of her. Losing someone or something you loved is hard no matter what it is. Only time and God can help. I bet God has a special place in heaven for our beloved horses where there are no flies, the water is cool and clear and the grass is sweet and always green. Talk to Him, He will help you and talk to your friend about it too. I'm sure he/she feels terrible about what happened.

Similar thing happened this week with my dog, he was like playing and he collapsed with a heart attack, these things happen but animals are very easily attachable and become part of the family, I'm really sorry about what happened, I feel for you

I'm so sorry! That's horrible. You need to talk to your friend and make sure that she's ok too, because I bet she's feeling responsible for your horse's death. Cry together.

i am SOOOO srry for your loss. I would not be mad at your friend. She probley feels responsible for the death of your horse. In the future i would not use split reins.
