She's 13 and heartbroken over some schmuck she met on a website?? Where are her parents?? She should NOT be meeting people that she only knows from the Internet, not at her age! She's going to fall for the wrong guy one day and really get hurt, so try and talk some sense into her. She needs to just hang out with kids her own age--not date them, just hang out and get to know them. She's too young to worry about dating and having her heart broken. Adulthood comes soon enough, why hurry it? Get her interested in some hobbies or sports so she'll stay busy. Go to a film together, or get some friends together, rent a few movies, and have a movie-and-snacks night.

I think that there are too many predators out there on the internet just waiting for a young girl like your friend. I would warn her about that plus I would check him out by checking his Internet Service Provider and then have a checkup done on him to be sure he is not on a sex offender list.

It is a very serious thing for a young girl. He might just be an older man who preys on innocent young ladies like your friend.

Just be there for her and try to guide her in the right direction even if it means you tell her parents. She might not like you for doing it, but you might just be saving her life. This is serious business she is getting involved in.

There is a predator out there now who has killed over 50 women, so please do everything you can to stop her from talking to the man or boy again. One thing you can do is to go to the police and get a police woman to contact the man and maybe he will go after the police woman and he can be caught. I have heard of that being done. See if you can get his MSN Screen name and take it from there. You are a good person to be concerned for your friend.

I am thinking of you and your friend, and I pray you can help her.

OK, your doing the right thing by being there for her. BUT I don't think your gonna get her to stop. But you should go out with her and sit down over some ice cream or something and talk with her. And when your talking with her don't be negative. I mean negative towards her. Talk with her like you are there and on her side. I mean if you come across the wrong way it will only push her more in the situation or away from you. THAT you DON'T want. Good Luck

You can only advise her, not protect her ... she will aparently have to learn the hard lessons of life on her own if she is unwilling to listen to reason. You've been a good and true friend and done your part. Now you have to observe and wait and hope for the best.

so what do you need help with? Be supportive of your friend and pick her up when she's down.
