I was making some chicken in the oven about two days ago and some stuff fell on the bottom of the oven. It's now baked onto the bottom of my stove and everytime I turn it on to bake in about 1 minute the kitchen smells like it's on fire! It's so bad it stings my eyes! What can I do to clean the oven out? I'm afraid that if I use a soap or bathroom cleaner my oven will explode the next time I turn it on :( Please help!!

Use something to scrape the excess off and then use an oven cleaning agent. PLEASE, DO NOT USE MORE THAN ONE CHEMICAL TO CLEAN IT. SOMETHING CONTAINING BLEACH MIXED WITH SOMETHING CONTAINING AMMONIA WILL FORM A VERY TOXIC GAS.

The best way to keep the inside of your oven window is to wipe it down after use while it is still warm, likewise goes for the top of the stove, as i always give mine a clean after cooking that way it keeps it clean and new looking, i don't know if you have a newish stove because the one that i have is a couple of years old and i can take the inside glass out to clean it, that way i can clean the outer glass. But as yours is all burnt on then you may have to use a scourer and with some washing-up-liquid (as that is all i use) and give it a good scrub round, also you may need to use a knife to scrap it off as you go. But the best is a bit of elbow grease.

If it's not a self cleaning oven then get Easy Off No Fumes.

they make specific cleaners for your stove, use those. You should be able to find them pretty easily...its like a spray on foam, and be sure to use rubber gloves. Don't put anything in your oven that isn't meant to specifically go in your oven...

My favorite oven cleaner is my putty knife. Scrapes that stuff right off.
