The girl that lives next door to me came and knocked on my door complaining about my alarm going off when I'm not home. I guess she hears it in the AM because it is right against the wall that both are beds are against (on opposite sides). I guess she even made the manager come over last weekend and shut the thing off. I feel terrible because she shouldn't have to put up with my noise. SO in my moment of feeling bad - I gave her a key to my apartment. Now I'm thinking that was a terrible idea. She's lived here a year and I've talked to her a number of times - but it's still a bad idea. Now how do I go back to get it? I don't want her to think that I think she'll steal - I told her I trusted her when I gave her the key. I just don't want to go back and tell her I changed my mind. Argh! I need advice!

Tell her you lost your apartment key and need the key back that you gave her as it's the only spare one you had.

It is hard to trust people now a days and if your second guessing then I would consider changing the locks and turning the alarm off before you leave the house from now on!!! She might be the nicest person in the world, but I'd hate for you to come home one day and all your stuff gone.

YES, very bad idea. What were you thinking???
Tell her you lost yours and you need it back..........
However, I'd probably just get the lock changed. She could've made another key.
