My family and I returned yesterday from a 5-day Caribbean cruise. We were on the Imagination and we thought that you should know that we really did not enjoy this cruise as much as our first Carnival cruise for several reasons, which I do not have the space to list here but to sum it up....
Cruising has become too affordable. Most of the people on the cruise were low class, trashy people, who had no respect for others. They are the reason that ship is in such sad shape. They leave their trash, smoke everywhere, not just in the designated smoking areas, and were very loud and rude. In the future, if we cruise again, we will either choose a newer vessel or a higher priced cruise. Not that we are any better than anyone else, but we're not trashy and pick up after ourselves.
I must say that the staff were always very nice and helpful. They did change the sheets when I asked them to although those were stained too. The captain very wisely took us to the Bahamas rather than Grand Cayman to avoid the storm. I have no complaints about any one person on the ship. The entire staff was great. It's just that that ship needs a complete overhaul or a match. It really smells that bad, like a combination of must and urine. The Carnival CEO needs to travel in one of our rooms for 5 days and see how he likes the smells there!

At this point, I would suggest Royal Caribbean. It's higher class!!

I am a former travel agent who has been on many cruises, and Carnival is the one I would recommend if you like fun, drinking, dancing, and awesome entertainment. Princess caters more to the older, more experienced traveller. Carnival is more of a party cruise. Have fun!

i have been using carnival for years now and love it, i have tried others but they are stuffy, if you like a party cruise with lots to do and more laid back than formal i would go with carnival, some other cruise lines have a more formal dress code, the idea of a vacation is to relax and wear what you want!
