He barely touched the ball in the TnT game..... sad. And he got substituted. He only lighted up minutes before getting substituted, on the other hand Crouch had an amazing game, don't you think?

give owen a break. If you look at how he's played in previous world cups... and he's still only 26. Look at his record, he's already one of the best in England and if he continues, he'll be the best ever (on paper). His prime hasn't even begun yet. Look at Henry who was critizised heavily until he reached his prime. Now he's considered one of the world's best.
I think the main reason for his poor form is his injury. Also, it's a team game and England are not providing owen with the right balls. The midfield isn't helping the attack enough and with owen being a predatory striker and requiring the ball to be given to him on a plate (which is all a striker needs to do), he's not getting the balls in the back of the net.
Yeah, good for crouch who's having a good time at the moment, but look how he was critizised until very recently. He missed a lot of easy shots (by england standards) in that game aswell. But I wouldn't write off owen just yet because he's there main striker, even if rooney is the best player.

I hope not. I didn't see him play for more than a year, until yesterday. He was such an exciting player. What happened to him? About Crouch, I'd never saw him play before this two games. Everybody was calling him a good striker. A good striker doesn't need 20 chances to score, like he did. Like I said, I never saw him before and I don't know if it is always like that.

Owen has always been like that after injuries, he needs 2 or 3 games to get match fit. In 2002, he scored only in the 2nd round and in the quarters.
In Euro 2004, he also started his scoring run late.

Owen will be England's all time record scorer, that is as certain, as night follows day.

To be fair, nobody in England has really shined during their two games. To me Crouch had an OK game, nothing really special besides the goal. He also missed a golden opportunity in front of the goal. Though I think he is one of the few that is showing energy out there.

I don't know. I hate Owen because he went to Newcastle. Not that I hate Newcastle I wanted him to return to Liverpool. But I don't mind him now because I found out that somehow Real Madrid didn't want Owen to go back to Liverpool.

Oops sorry I'm going off-topic. Anyway, I think you're sort of right. Owen shouldn't play in most games but just some.
