DO NOT TRY TO MAKE HER LAUGH. (Although, after reading morning glory's suggestion that would be good! She would probably be mad at first, but since she doesn't have to "show" her laughter, she would LOVE IT) If you are face to face, she will feel obligated to laugh and that make her feel worse. Think about when someone has done that to you.
But, put her in a situation where she can laugh if she wants to- like watching Jim Carrey movies. Just let her be, be there for her, like hang out, but don't suggest stuff, let her decide.
And remind her that she is TOTALLY COOL and that it's ok to hurt, it means that whatever happened involved someone or something important and that needs to be respected. She needs to recognized as an important individual, and respected.

Just be there for her. Don't make her laugh, don't try to cheer her up, do what she wants.
In the end, being there is more than enough, and she'll be eternally greatful for having a friend who can just be there with pateince without having to do anything special besides listening and comforting.

Take her to Cold Stone Creamery and get her some delicious ice cream. Or Ben and Jerry's. My favorite is Mexican Vanilla from Amy's Icecream here in Austin, Tx.

First of all just being there is the most important thing. Sometimes when people have the blues they have to shake themselves out of it. Just be yourself and try to encourage them to get out and enjoy life again. Just love them and try to help them. Tell a joke or play some music, that may help lighten up their spirit.

First of all, it depends on the reason for her tears. If there was a death, let her cry for a day. If it was an argument, let her cry for an afternoon. If it was a break up, stop her immediately and make her laugh!!!

Being there for her is the most important thing. If you can take her out to a movie or something like that to help her take her mind off whatever is bothering her. If she wants to talk about it then listen to her. Listening is so key.

I don't know your friend, but when my friends are sad, they want someone there to let them know they're not alone. Just let her know you are there for her and you want to help. Think about what makes you feel good when you are sad. What makes you feel better? You seem like a good friend, she will feel better by knowing you are there for her!
