Of course not. At the time when most women opt for an abortion, the fetus is nothing more than a small collection of cells - not much larger or more developed than, say, flaking skin cells. Remember, too, that a woman's body will often naturally reject a fetus - this is called miscarriage. And, if you want to take it a step further, you wouldn't account a woman's period, in which an egg that could potentially become a human being is 'thrown away,' as murder, would you? It's the same idea, and the answer is the same as the initial sentence of this response.

There are many reasons to not give a child up for adoption, it is not the be all end all method. And as long as abortion is legal in the US, which it should remain legal when you consider the alternative of back alley abortions and the havoc it could cause on a woman's body instead of having a medical professional do it, then abortion is not murder.

i struggle with the issue of abortion. i believe that abortion should be legal, because i don't think that the unborn baby's life is as important as the mother's, but i do think that they are alive in a way, they are a person. i mean, if someone killed my fetus without my consent, i would want the bastard to be charged with murder. the truth is that i would never do it myself, well, i can't say that, i can imagine situations where i might consider it, and this is why i think abortion needs to be legal. there are situations where a woman should just not be forced to bring a child into the world, and there a situations where women abort babies just because they screwed up and don't want to deal with the consequences, but who is to judge in which situations abortion should be allowed? just in cases where the mother's life is in danger? then does this includee suicide? just in cases of rape and incest? does this includ statutory rape? sometimes, if it is not clear where a line should be drawn, the only solution is not to draw a line.

it is not legally considered it, but I have freinds who have gotten abortions and it has haunted them for all of thier lives! I have a home girl, she got an abortion eleven years ago and she still regrets it with passion.
