live under your means. It means no matter how much you make, you need to live on less than what you make. It means not buying a new car every 2 years, investing in education and a home, not buying into the hype of every new shiny gadget that comes along.

First is the goal. What is rich? Many people say that 6 million dollars is needed to be rich in the USA.

There are many ways to get rich. My idea is only one possible way, and it has three parts: Frugality, income and investments.

Frugality is driving an older car, not buying expensive new TVs, etc. If you eat out in restaurants only order a house salad and not the entree. Don't give expensive Christmas gifts. You need to change your mindset from wanting to buy goods to enjoying saving money. Live a very economical life.

You want a job with good income. There are many jobs which pay over $100k and don't have high risks. You can find those and then by being frugal you can invest most of your money.

The most important part of getting rich is your investments and getting a good return. If you don't feel clever you can buy a safe fund and hope for 10% a year, putting away $100k from your job into investments every year. People say that over the long term stock markets tend to do well.

If all goes well you can be rich in about 25 years.

There are other ways to get rich, but my way doesn't require as much talent.

It won't come overnight, but you can get very rich on the internet. It's a whole new frontier with unlimited possibilities.

Start by joining an affiliate program. It will teach you how to make money online, and how to be a success at whatever you do. There is a wealth of wonderful education to help you make it really big.

After you have succeeded with the affiliate program, start your own business on the web. By that time you will have developed a ton of ideas, and been able to boil them down to one or two things you really want to do.

The next step would be to go offline and invest in some kind of real estate, or other local business investment.

This way you will have at least three sources of significant income. If one fails, the other two will just keep bringing in the cash.

You might even become wealthy. Rich is having more money coming in each month than you are using. Wealthy is when you don't have to work at all unless you want to.

Good Luck!

PS. The web is also full of scams posing as affiliate programs. Here are some that are solid, paying companies. Enjoy!

Mostly by hard work and savings. Then when you have some money you can try real estate or get a good broker and buy some reasonable stock. I paid $5,000 for stock in AMLN a medical firm that had a new cancer drug and in 8 months collected $10,000. You could also investigate some home businesses which you can do part time which would bring additional income. - Good Luck!!

live on bare neccessities, but treat yourself to something small at the end of every week, for saving whatever you made.

Also, get a savings account at a bank that has very limited service. i.e. some banks do not have ATMs everywhere and thus when you take out money using interac your required to pay a fee. this might stop you from wanting to take out cash. and also sometimes these types of savings accounts come with debit cards that wont work if you are trying to pay for something at a store using your debit card. (Hence the idea of saving). that might help you save and get rich.

No matter what, always spend less than you make. Save/invest the rest. Don't spend what you have saved until you have gotten completely tired of the idea of being "rich."

Live within or under your means. Watch successful people and learn from them. Come up with a really great idea that you believe in (and be passionate about) and then be persistent until you can make it a reality.
