The song is "I've Been Working On the Railroad." I don't know who is in the kitchen with Dinah, either. I know this song is older than the time of Dinah Shore, a famous singer from about 50 or 60 years ago.

Thank you so very much now that song is stuck in my head! LOL, I don't think it ever says who the the person was, was just strumin on the old banjo....,
my mom and my aunts used to sing it ALLLLLL of the time. Oh yeah don't forget the dancing with it.

I think that's the only identification of who it is...but I'll look it up.

Edited to add: LOL, it's actually one of the verses of "I've Been Working On the Railroad," and it never identifies who "someone" is.
