It's strnage how it actually helps to know you're not the only one getting screwed! And Sorry Tom W, yours was the closest story for feeling that level of pissed off! $300! It ain't worth it! Pay the $5 to $7 parking fee in Hollywood, even at midnight! Bastards!

I was towed in San Fransisco, stopped by my office to get my briefcase, I work on the ground floor, parked the car at 10 minutes to 5:00. The sign said vehicles will be towed at 5:00pm. I arrived at my car at 5:02pm and it was gone, towed away, they had to be hiding in wait. Cost me the fine, the towing and car storage for 1/2 hour, $300.00 later I had my car back. It's a major money maker for the cities.

HELPFUL HINT: Next time you are in the situation where you need a tow truck, find a friend who has CAA or another like insurance that covers tows. They can say they were driving the car when it broke down and it will cost you nada but a favour for your friend!

my daughter was towed from the parking lot of the store she worked for...cost her $150 (she wasn;t working at the time)
