My 10mo baby girl is one of those that spits up. She just does. I have faith someday she'll quit. But the laundry stains are killing me! She has ruined SO MANY outfits. I can't get those ORANGE STAINS out. I have tried Oxy, Shout, Peroxide, Cold Water, Hot Water, Concentrated Detergent and a toothbrush. I swear I am at my witts end. I have some really cute BabyGap clothes I won't even let her wear because I'm afraid she will stain them.
Is there a LAUNDRY GURU out there who can tell me how to get those orange stains out and save my baby's wardrobe and my budget????

I own over 25 bibs, so that is not an issue. I truley do know to put a bib on her when she is being fed. It is the spitting up that she does intermittently throughout the day, at childcare, at the mall, at church, at a friends house, at WalMart, after bathtime......that is what gets on her outfits. And it's not just her 'chest area'. She is 10 months old so she 'fingerpaints' in it, and it gets on her socks, her knees, etc. So, really, a bib is not the solution. But I am making notes of the LAUNDERING suggestions. Very appreciated.

I use the powdered color safe bleach from the dollar store it costs $2 for a box of it. I Put about a cup of it in hot hot water and let the clothes soak in it for about two days and then wash them in the machine. I have two kids and this works very well, I even had several baby clothes that I had in storage that were from when my son was a baby 5 years ago, that I got the stains out of this way for my yard sale. Hope this helps ya.

If you have any white clothes you can try chlorine bleach, but make sure you put them through a double rinse cycle.
Do you put a bib on her during feeding time? You can buy some specifically for eating. They're not cloth like drool bibs...they're soft rubber and have a large pocked at the bottom to catch spilled food. They're also very wide and will cover her from her neck to her lap, and across both sides.
Other than that...my only advice would be to save the expensive baby clothes for when she's less messy (probably early adulthood, lol). You could save the name brand stuff for special occasions, or put them on her right before you take her out to run errands or what have you, then just change her into normal clothes when you get home. Honestly (and please don't take offense) when I see babies out and about with their parents, I'm not looking at the outfit saying, "Gee, what a cute outfit from Baby Gap or Tommy Hilfiger." I'm usually saying, "What an adorable little boy!" I don't look twice at the clothes. :)

Woolite Oxy Deep! It's mainly for pet stains, but does work wonders on baby food stains.
I have an 11 mo. old that doesn't like green beans. Green Beans are a bugger to get out. Just spray a little, once the stain happens, and put in your hamper. When you wash, it will come right out. I also add a little color-safe bleach, like Clorox 2, to the load if there's A LOT of stained clothes.

Well, i use baby Oxy Clean. it really works but u have to give it time too. I first treat the stain with hot or worm water then i put the Oxy Clean on it it in rub it in. i then fill a small tub with warm water and 2 or 3 scoops of oxy clean, and then i put the clothing in it and let it soak for the rest of the day and over night. by morning the stain is either almost gone or gone completely and i just throw it in with the rest of my babys clothes along with an extra scoop of the Oxy Clean and the baby deteregent and the stain is gone. it took me awhile to find the right way to get the stain out but it was definitely worth it. i hope it works for you too.
you can find it at Target for a little under $4.00.

Well I feel this is a question for women and a few good men, and yes we know what bibs are. Try greased lighting, spray on, let it sit, and put it in washer, hope for the best.

I didn't see bleach in your list. Some colored clothing does OK with 1/4 cup bleach in the washer. If you have a HE front-loader, dilute the bleach with an equal amount of water and fill the bleach bin.
That, and start carrying pre-treat such as Shout with you in the diaper bag to treat the problems when they are fresh.

soak it with spray and wash, let it sit for about 5 minutes and then throw it in the washer on the longest cycle with hot water and soap, that works for me. if its white you can rub a little bleach on the stain with your finger and rinse it out then wash it. oh yeah one thing i forgot, get the stained clothes in the washer as soon as possible, the sooner you clean it the better results you will have.

I use the Spray & Wash stain stick and it gets soy formula, baby food carrots, etc. all out! Also, the Tide to Go pen works great!
