I am very happily married and have been with the same lovely woman for 7 years, we also have a 6 month old son who is my very world. I had a great friend, another female, who I have lost because she suddenly decided to announce to me that she was attracted to me...
I feel like I should avoid making female friends now, what else could I have done?
Please don't answer if you think I should have cheated, and yes she was actually pretty good looking so don't bother asking.

I didn't cheat... I hope nobody misread this, seems like some of the answer assume I did or something.

There was nothing else you could have done. Regardless of how she felt about you, she never should have said anything. Your married and have a new baby, what was she thinking? That wasn't a true friend. Sounds like she was attracted to you and looking for the opportunity to help herself. There are good people out there and not all women think like that. Move on and enjoy being a new dad...friends will come and go but what you have is priceless. Good Luck

You can have female friends. And it's just attraction. If you know you're faithful, and the other women aren't trying to make you unfaithful, then by all means you can have female friends. However, I think that a woman who openly admits that she's attracted to you and you're married, is really, well, bad to hang around with. you made the right decision.

These are my husbands thoughts---- You should have told her you were uncomfortable with her telling you that, and you are happily married and want nothing more than to be friends. See how that goes and take it from there.
These are my thoughts---- I think having female friends that are not also your wife's friend is trouble in any marriage. If she was your wife's friend, then she was in the wrong by coming on to you in the first place knowing your wife and how happily married you are.
OK- answer this- how long have you been friends with her, and was she also friends with your wife? ( We want to know- we are not agreeing on this matter)

DANGER, DANGER!!! Trusting a man with a woman he was attracted to is about as safe as letting an alcoholic hold on to your vodka. Some things are better off being prevented then testing the trust there is in a relationship!!!

no you should not cheat. you probably need to stay away as much as possible and never be alone with her because things do happen. my boyfriend says that you can't have friends of the opposite sex without being attracted to them. it's not worth putting your marriage in jeopardy. STAY AWAY

Dood.. you did the right thing. You may be able to have platonic friends who happen to be female, just not THAT female.
